David Ludwig’s passion and knowledge of the game of hockey combined with his legal background makes him an integral part of the KO Sports team since joining in 2010.  A dual citizen of the United States and Canada, David is uniquely situated to scout and identify elite hockey prospects in both Western Canada and the Western United States.

Originally from Culver City, California, David grew up playing minor hockey in the Los Angeles area up through Midget AAA. David attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado where he won an American Collegiate Hockey Association Division II National Championship in 2005 before receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication in 2008. David then earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2012.  He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and also has his Level 4 Coaching Certification through USA Hockey.

Based out of KO Sports’ global headquarters in Denver, Colorado, David serves as the company’s Director of Hockey Operations and Licensing.  In this role, David is responsible for conducting contract negotiation research and salary arbitration case preparation.  He is also extensively involved in all facets of player contract negotiations, endorsement and licensing contracts, free agency and the NHL Entry Draft, in addition to providing administrative support for KO Sports and its clients.

David is a Certified Player Agent with the National Hockey League Players’ Association and resides in Denver with his wife Ellen.
