David Van der Gulik was born on April 20th, 1983 in Abbotsford, British Columbia and is a retired National Hockey League forward. David was drafted in the 7th round, 206th overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. David played four seasons at Boston University earning All-Hockey East Rookie Team honors as a freshman in 2003. During his six seasons in the NHL, David played for the Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings before joining Dusseldorf EG in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
