Jesper Fast was born on December 2, 1991 in Nässjö, Sweden and he currently plays right wing for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League. Jesper was drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round, 157th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and joined the organization in 2013. Jesper recorded his first National Hockey League goal on November 29, 2014, against the Philadelphia Flyers. After the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, having played in his seventh season with the Rangers, Fast left the club as a free agent. On October 11, 2020, Jesper agreed to a 3-year, $6 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. On July 1, 2023, Fast re-signed with the Canes on a two-year, $4.8 million contract extension.

Internationally, Jesper has represented Sweden in several tournaments including the 2011 IIHF World U20 Championship.
