Jaccob Slavin was born on May 1, 1994 in Erie, Colorado and he currently plays defense for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League. Jaccob was selected in the fourth round, 120th overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After concluding his collegiate career at Colorado College, Jaccob made his National Hockey League debut on November 20, 2015 with the Hurricanes. On July 12, 2017, the Hurricanes signed Slavin to a seven-year, $37.1 million contract worth $5.3 million annually.
Internationally, Jaccob represented the United States at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2011 and the World Junior Championships in 2014.
