Patrick Giles was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland where he played high school hockey in state for Landon School.
Patrick joined the U.S. National Development Team for the 2016-17 season playing 56 games including 5 games in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he recorded a goal and two assists. In 2017-18, Patrick was named an assistant captain of the National Development Team and appeared in 62 games. He helped the U.S. capture a silver medal at the Under-18 World Championship recording 2 points in 7 games.
Patrick committed to Boston College and began his NCAA career in 2018-19. He played in 37 games as a freshman and 10 more as a sophomore. Patrick was named an assistant captain for the Eagles in his junior season in 2020-21 and suited up for all his team’s 24 games. In 2021-22, Patrick set a career high in scoring as he recorded 22 points in 37 games.
Despite being undrafted, the Florida Panthers signed Patrick to an entry-level contract following his senior season. Patrick made his pro debut for the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL at the end of the 2021-22 season. Between his debut and the end of the 2023-24 season, Patrick played in 148 AHL regular season games for the Checkers and an additional 17 playoff games. On October 12, 2024, Patrick made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers in a game against the Buffalo Sabres.
