Pierre-Édouard Bellemare was born on March 6, 1985 in Le Blanc-Mesnil, France. Pierre-Édouard was selected in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights after spending the previous three seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. Pierre-Édouard began playing for Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League where he won the Swedish Championship twice in 2013 and 2014. On June 11, 2014, Pierre-Édouard signed his first National Hockey League contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Internationally, Pierre-Édouard has represented France on many occasions, participating in both the 2010 IIHF World Championship and the 2014 IIHF World Championship while also representing team Europe in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. On July 1, 2019, Bellemare signed a two-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche with an AAV of $1.8 million. Pierre signed a two-year deal worth $1.0 million AAV with the Tampa Bay Lightning on July 28, 2021.
