Samuel Johannesson was born on December 27, 2000 and currently plays defense for Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League. Samuel grew up playing in his native country of Sweden for the Halmstad and Rögle programs before making his SHL debut during the 2018-19 season. The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Samuel in the 6th Round, 176th Overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
