Hockey Operations Associate
Jake joined KO Sports full-time in 2016 after serving as an Intern for three years during law school. Jake’s primary role with KO Sports is the coordination and planning of all matters pertaining to Hockey Operations and Administration. In that role, Jake is responsible for conducting NHL Salary Cap and Market valuations, researching and preparing materials for Salary Arbitration, as well as analyzing and interpreting players’ rights under the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Born and raised in Toronto, ON, Jake grew up playing hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League and North York Hockey League. Jake earned his Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON in 2012. While attending Queen’s as an undergraduate, Jake worked for the Gaels Men’s Hockey Team as Video Coordinator, responsible for the production and analysis of game video for the coaching staff. Subsequently, Jake attended law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2016. Throughout law school, Jake worked for the University of Denver Pioneers Hockey team as a Hockey Operations Assistant, conducting statistical analysis of games as well as providing video analysis to the coaching staff.
Jake is licensed to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Denver Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
