Head Scout, North America
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mike received a hockey scholarship to Colorado College in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Mike returned to Michigan where started a coaching career that expanded 38 years which included head coaching positions from Bantam through Junior A. While coaching in Junior A, Mike’s team won the National Championship and Mike was named Junior A Coach of the Year.
Throughout his coaching career, Mike has had the privilege of coaching over 200 players who went on to play college hockey and numerous players who played professional hockey in the NHL, AHL, IHL, ECHL, CHL or Europe. Additionally, Mike assisted Herb Brooks with the 1980 USA Olympic tryouts in Michigan. Mike has also been involved with the USA Select Festivals as a coach and served on the selection committee. Mike also scouted for the USA NTDP for 4 years.
Mike’s primary role with KO Sports is to scout and identify the best NHL prospects in the United States and Ontario.
