Shawn Hunwick

From player to agent, Shawn Hunwick’s passion for hockey has taken him on a lifelong journey that has fostered industry connections and given him a deep relatability with his clients, making him a true advocate that lives and breathes the values of KO Sports.

Shawn grew up in the Detroit area playing youth hockey for the Honeybaked program before moving on to junior hockey in the North American Hockey League. From there he earned a walk-on goalie spot at the University of Michigan under legendary coach Red Berenson. He became the University of Michigan’s all-time leader in “Goal Against Average” and “Save Percentage” and was nominated as a Hobey Baker Finalist during the 2012 season.  At the conclusion of his collegiate career at Michigan, Shawn signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, appearing in one NHL game, before playing professionally in Europe.

Shawn is a licensed Certified Player Agent by the National Hockey Leagues Players’ Association. Prior to joining KO Sports, Shawn co-operated a boutique agency for 10 years. Shawn is deeply committed to negotiating the best contracts and endorsement deals for his clients, which is his primary role at KO Sports in the United States and Canada.

When not in rinks, Shawn resides in his home-state of Michigan.
