Khaira to Sign NHL Contract with Edmonton

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech hockey coach Mel Pearson announced today that sophomore Jujhar Khaira (Surrey, B.C.) is foregoing his final years of eligibility to sign a contract with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. The 6-3 forward will attend their upcoming prospects camp and their main preseason camp with the goal of making the Oilers’ opening day roster.

UMass’ Allen to turn pro with Rangers

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Conor Allen.

Allen, 23, registered five goals and 14 assists for 19 points, along with 53 penalty minutes in 33 games with UMass-Amherst of Hockey East this season. He established career-highs in assists, points and penalty minutes.
