Suburban teen gets new start in Canadian junior hockey: ‘kind of a miracle’

SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick — The wind was driving a cold rain sideways, turning the first Sunday afternoon of November into a preview of what winter often looks like in this old seafaring hub on the Bay of Fundy.
For Adam Marsh, a 17-year-old hockey player from Chicago’s west suburbs, it was a good time to hole up in the basement man cave of the Rooney house less than a mile from the churned-up bay.
