Jets sign Simon Lundmark to a three-year, entry-level contract

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with their 2019 second round pick (51stoverall) Simon Lundmark on a three-year, entry-level contract with an average annual value of $925,000.

Lundmark, a 20-year-old defenceman, has spent the past four seasons with Linkopings in the Swedish Elite League and set personal bests with two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 47 games this season. The Stockholm, Sweden native has recorded 16 points (2G, 14A) in 118 games during his SHL career and he has represented Sweden in numerous tournaments, including winning the gold medal at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

 

Jets select Simon Lundmark in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft

VANCOUVER, BC – The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have selected Simon Lundmark in the second round, 51st overall, in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Lundmark, 18, had three assists in 29 games with Linkopings in the Swedish Hockey League last season. He also suited up for the Linkopings U20 team and tallied 17 points (2G, 15A) in 25 games. He played for Sweden at the 2017 U-17 World Hockey Challenge and helped Sweden win the gold medal.
