Bolts Sign Veteran Brian Elliott to a One Year Contract

TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed goaltender Brian Elliott to a one-year contract worth $900,000 AAV, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced.

Elliott, 36, has appeared in 502 career NHL games over 14 seasons, compiling a record of 256-155-49 to go along with a 2.53 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. The Newmarket, Ontario native played in 30 games last season for the Philadelphia Flyers and posted 15 wins in 26 starts which includes two shutouts. He posted a pair of three-game winning streaks last season with the Flyers.

Lightning sign forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare to two-year contract

TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare to a two-year, one-way contract worth $1 million AAV, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Bellemare, 36, skated in 53 games last season for the Colorado Avalanche, posting nine goals and 11 points to go along with 21 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 198-pound forward tied his career best with nine goals last season. He finished the regular season scoring in back-to-back games for Colorado. Bellemare also appeared in 10 playoff games for the Avs in 2021, tallying three assists.

Arizona Inks Dzingel to One Year Deal

GLENDALE, AZ – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Ryan Dzingel to a one-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 29-year-old Dzingel registered 8-5-13 with 21 penalty minutes (PIM) in 40 games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators in 2020-21.

The 6-foot, 190-pound forward recorded back-to-back seasons with 20-plus goals and 40-plus points in 2017-18 (23-18-41 in 79 games) and 2018-19 (26-30-56 in 78 games).

Hurricanes Sign Two-Time Stanley Cup Champion Ian Cole

RALEIGH, NC – Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Ian Cole on a one-year, $2.9 million contract.

“Ian is a big, physical defenseman,” said Waddell. “We’re thrilled to add a veteran with his experience to our team.”

Cole, 32, skated in two games with Colorado last season before being traded to Minnesota. He then recorded eight points (1g, 7a) in 52 games during the regular season and played seven playoff games with the Wild. The 6’1″, 225-pound defenseman has registered 146 points (27g, 119a) in 595 career NHL games with St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Colorado and Minnesota since making his NHL debut with the Blues on Nov. 6, 2010.

Wild signs forward Dominic Turgeon to a one-year, two-way contract

ST. PAUL, MN – Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Dominic Turgeon to a one-year, two-way contract ($750,000/$155,000).

Turgeon, 25, collected 13 points (6-7=13) in 31 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2020-21 season. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, recorded a season-high five shots Feb. 13 at Cleveland and a season-high three-game point streak (1-3=4) from March 20-27. The left-shot forward owns 106 points (42-64=106), seven game-winning goals (GWG), 81 PIM and 458 shots on goal in 306 career AHL games with the Griffins (2016-21). He has five points (2-3=5) and 28 shots in 22 AHL playoff contests (2017, 2019).

Wild re-signs Mermis to two-year, two-way contract

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League club has re-signed defenseman Dakota Mermis to a two-year, two-way contract ($750,000/$300,000 in 2021-22 and $750,000/$325,000 in 2022-23).

Mermis, 27, recorded 10 hits and four blocked shots in three games with Minnesota last season. The 6-foot, 194-pound native of Alton, Ill., tallied 19 points (3-16=19), two power-play goals (PPG), a plus-6 rating, 23 penalty minutes (PIM) and 79 shots on goal in 53 games with the Binghamton Devils in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2019-20. He also collected four points (1-3=4), a plus-7 rating, four PIM, 17 shots on goal, 20 hits and 21 blocked shots in 10 games with the New Jersey Devils in 2019-20.
