Calle Rosén Signs 1 year Contract with St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have signed defenseman Calle Rosen to a one-year, two-way contract.

Rosen, 27, spent last season with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, tallying 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 30 regular-season games.

Overall, the 6-foot-1, 186-pound defenseman has dressed in 181 career AHL regular-season games, collecting 96 points (19 goals, 77 assists) and 94 penalty minutes.

The Vaxjo, Sweden native has also made 20 career NHL regular-season appearances, recording five points (one goal, four assists) and eight penalty minutes.

Canadiens acquire forward Christian Dvorak

MONTREAL, QUE – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Saturday that the team has acquired centreman Christian Dvorak from the Arizona Coyotes in return for two draft picks.

Arizona trades Dvorak to Montreal in exchange for: i) the better of Montreal’s own 1st round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and Carolina’s 1st round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft (previously acquired by Montreal); and ii) Montreal’s own 2nd round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Andrew Copp Signs One Year Contract with the Winnipeg Jets

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Andrew Copp on a one-year contract with an average annual value of $3,640,000.

Copp, 27, recorded 39 points (15G, 24A) in 55 games for the Jets last season before adding two assists and four PIMs in eight playoff games. The Ann Arbor, Mich. native has played 411 games over seven seasons for Winnipeg and posted 149 points (61G, 88A) and 74 PIMs. Copp has also played 34 playoff games for the Jets and recorded 12 points (3G, 9A) and 14 PIMs. Internationally, Copp has represented Team USA at the 2014 World Junior Championships and the 2017 World Championships. He was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round (104th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Blackhawks Sign Khaira to a Two Year Contract

CHICAGO, IL – The Blackhawks signed forward Jujhar Khaira, a 26-year-old formerly of the Oilers, to a two-year contract with a $975,000 cap hit Wednesday.

Khaira had 63 points in 258 games over the last six seasons in Edmonton, including 11 in 40 games last season. A physical presence with a big body (6-4, 213 pounds) that can grind on the fourth line.

Jets sign F Riley Nash to one-year contract

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Jets have clinched a one-year, $750,000 contract with forward Riley Nash, the team announced Saturday.

The 32-year-old played 37 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, recording seven points (2G, 5A) and four penalty minutes.

He also played in a pair of playoff games for the Toronto Maple Leafs after being traded there in April.

Lightning sign defenseman Cal Foote to two-year contract

TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Cal Foote to a two-year, one-way contract worth $850,000 AAV, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced.

Foote, 22, played in 35 games in his first NHL season with the Lightning, posting one goal and three points to go along with a +9 rating and 29 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 227-pound defenseman made his NHL debut in the Lightning’s season opening game this past season against the Chicago Blackhawks on January 13. Foote netted his first career NHL goal on January 30 against the Nashville Predators. He also skated in six games with the Syracuse Crunch in 2020-21, recording a goal and four points.

Kings Add Garret Sparks on One Year, Two Way Contract

LOS ANGELES, CA – The LA Kings have signed goaltender Garret Sparks to one-year, two-way contracts, carrying an AAV of $750,000 at the NHL level.

Sparks, 28, appeared in 16 games last season with the Stockton Heat (AHL) posting a .913 save percentage, 2.69 goals-against-average and 5-10-0 record. He also played in six games for the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), where he recorded a .928 save percentage, 2.21 goals-against-average and a 4-1-1 record.

TAMPA BAY, FL – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed goaltender Brian Elliott to a one-year contract worth $900,000 AAV, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced.

Elliott, 36, has appeared in 502 career NHL games over 14 seasons, compiling a record of 256-155-49 to go along with a 2.53 goals-against average and .910 save percentage. The Newmarket, Ontario native played in 30 games last season for the Philadelphia Flyers and posted 15 wins in 26 starts which includes two shutouts. He posted a pair of three-game winning streaks last season with the Flyers.
