Top Oilers Prospect Tullio Named OHL Player of the Week

Oilers 2020 fifth-round pick Tyler Tullio has been named the Ontario Hockey League’s Player of the Week after posting an impressive seven points in back-to-back games for the streaking Oshawa Generals, who enter the holiday break on a four-game win streak thanks in part to his explosive performances.

Edmonton Signs Top Prospect Tullio to NHL Contract

EDMONTON, AB – Breaking news from the Edmonton Oilers on Labour Day, that the NHL club has signed forward Ty Tullio to a standard 3-year Entry Level Contract.

Tullio, 19, still has a year of major junior to play. Presumably that will be back home in Ontario Hockey League, which was on hiatus for the entirety of 2020-21 due to COVID. He was recently named captain of the Oshawa Generals.

This contract will surely slide and become effective in 2022-23 when the youngster turns pro. For now it’s merely a promise of future service, and employment.

CHL Prospect Pipeline – Tyler Tullio and the Edmonton Oilers

OSHAWA, ONT – Possessing an ideal combination of skill and grit, the Oshawa Generals centre was originally chosen with the 11th pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. Debuting with the club later that fall, Tullio made an immediate impression in putting together a solid rookie season where he provided reliable secondary scoring support with 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points across 60 appearances. In all, that performance saw Tullio rank sixth among all freshmen scorers league-wide and helped him earn a spot on the 2018-19 OHL Second All-Rookie Team. The product of Lakeshore, Ont., then took another step as a sophomore as he produced north of a point-per-game in registering 27 goals and 39 assists through 62 showings. Playing the 2020-21 campaign on loan with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas of the top professional Slovakian league, Tullio was a natural fit in the pro ranks as he posted 13 points counting four goals and nine assists through his 19-game set. A mid-round selection by the Oilers in last summer’s NHL Draft, the 2002-born forward is primed to return to the Generals for the coming season.

Bakersfield Condors Sign Tulio to ATO

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield Condors have signed RW Tyler Tullio to an ATO (amateur tryout). The 18-year old was drafted in the 5th round (#126 overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft by Edmonton.

With the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) not playing currently, Tullio went to Slovakia this winter and had 13 points (4g-9a) in 19 games with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas.
